The Bonham ISD Board of Trustees voted to approve Phillip Lentz as L.H. Rather Junior High Principal for the 2022-2023 school year. Mr. Lentz joins BISD from Blue Ridge ISD where has served as Middle School Principal since 2017. With twenty years of experience in education, Mr. Lentz has served as a teacher and coach, instructional coach, professional development leader, assistant principal, and principal. In addition to Blue Ridge ISD, Mr. Lentz has worked in Midland, Odessa, Lovejoy, and Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. Mr. Lentz has also served as a consultant and speaker supporting educators and educational leaders across the state.
Mr. Lentz’s wife, Kristen of 20 years, is a teacher at Blue Ridge High School. Together, they have twin daughters Kaitlyn and McKinley.
Mr. Lentz is the first person in his family tree to graduate from college and has a passion for helping all students see beyond their circumstances to reach their full potential. Mr. Lentz said, “I have been very impressed with the teachers and leaders I have gotten to know in Bonham, and I can’t wait to start meeting students and families. Great things are happening at LH Rather, and we are going to work hard to make sure next year is an amazing one for our students!”
