Current Position:

I currently serve as the Instructional Aide responsible for the services and programs in our Library and Learning Lab. Since September of 2017 I’ve had the honor of serving the students, faculty and staff at L. H. Rather Junior High School. I am responsible for library management, supervising student library aides, and student support activities. What an awesome school family to work with!

Previous Position:

From April to August of 2017 I served the district as a substitute teacher. I enjoyed performing the daily responsibilities on behalf of permanent elementary and secondary teachers.  The Bonham Independent School District welcomed me to their family and I enjoyed every day serving in this capacity.

Early in my career my educational goal was to become a Special Education teacher. While attending college at night I worked during the day as a pre-school teacher, Children’s Program Aide for a transitional homeless shelter, and an Assistant Director of several day care centers in the Dallas area.

After getting married and moving to Louisiana I held multiple positions in higher education while pursuing my educational goals. I served an Assistant Director of Student Housing, Workforce Training Grant Coordinator, Student Recruitment Coordinator, Associate Director for Admissions, Director for Recruitment and Retention, Director for Academic Services and Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the Community College, Doctoral Granting Branch Institution and Academic Health Science Center levels.

I am a life-long learner who enjoys problem solving and is committed to making responsible decisions.

Family Information:

I am a native north Texan, the youngest of five children and a life-long learner. I am no longer married, but instead enjoy helping my family and mentoring the students I work with. I believe wherever we are in life we are to serve those who need us.

Personal Information:

Without a doubt, the most rewarding part of my job is training, mentoring, leading and working alongside seven 8th grade student library aides. It is so professionaly rewarding to watch these students learn about library management and grow their understanding of customer service, leadership and responsibility. I have the best job in the world!

In my spare time I enjoy photography, watching college football (Geaux Tigers!), walking my dog, reading, and serving others less fortunate.
